Description

Little is know about this King and Viking Ruler of the North of England save for his Latinized name. Examples of his coins appear in the famous Cuerdale Hoard. Some scholars suggest that he is identified with a raider that attacked Wessex in 893, and potentially the same Viking that took Dublin the same year. The names appearing in the records are very similar. Sichfrith or Sigfrith.

Historical Denomination: Silver Penny.

Reign; Northumbria 895-900
