Please note.

If you are purchasing a set of dies, we make them to be paired and utilized with the blanks that we produce as well. Which are either Lead Free Pewter Alloy 92/8 Tin/Antimony. Or Dead Soft Nugold 85% Copper/15% Zinc.
If you choose to purchase blanks from another source or produce blanks on your own, and damage is caused by said blanks to the die set-we will not be responsible for the damage caused.
Yellow Brass is not the same as Red Brass sheet (Nugold, Jewelers Brass etc.) which we use in our shop. And can be much harder on a set of dies if not annealed properly. Same for many Bronze products. And we advise you not to seek to save funds by shopping for them elsewhere.
If you can locate the same types of alloys for a better price elsewhere, by all means feel free to procure them, we will not be offended. But be well acquainted with what you are purchasing.
Damaged dies that are our fault will be either recut or refunded. Returned dies or dies under construction and cancelled will be subject to a restocking fee of $140 or 1/3 their value. Whichever is greater.
Damaged or failed dies that are our fault will need to be documented and returned to us at the buyers expense. To be reviewed and assessed for what is our responsibility. If it is our fault, we can recut or refund based on the buyers request. And the return shipping will be refunded as well.
If we are not at fault, and the dies have suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear or by misadventure of the buyer, no refund will be forthcoming.
Dies sold back to us (on agreement) will be subject to inspection to ascertain their value, and funds transferred to the seller.
We remain the sole arbiter in these decisions, wherein we will be fair and honest in doing so. Purchasing any die sets are subject to these rules, and in purchasing them you are giving your consent to these rules.

Working on Updates

Thanks to our web-meister, it appears that our email is working again. If however you encounter any difficulties, do not hesitate to use theboss@alphaofficium.com to reach us. I am still working on the new website. It is going to take a while. Life has intervened for some time now. My wife had a diagnosis of cancer and only last week underwent surgery to fix that. She is home and well, and we are very thankful for that. In other news we are working now with a UK distributor, and things seem to be going smoothly, sales are up thanks to them. We hope to finally get back to introducing new items again. More types, and the scale project should be back on track starting in a week or two. Both early types (Viking/Saxon/Rus) and later widely used merchant scales with weights from all around Europe. We look to replicate the Dutch ones that seemed to be almost everywhere. Beyond that bit of news, I want to thank all the folks that did business with us this year, and look to serving you again in the new year. Thank you all.

The Moneyers Handbook

Though it is a bit dated, it was a determined effort from my youth that made “Moneying” very popular. If you are interested, I can still get you a copy for a nominal fee. $10 gets you some coins and punch example for the Hard copy or $5 for the PDF, your choice…just send us an email. We will work out the details.
